So rich you can see smoke coming from behind and it smells like straight up raw gas. Could it be a stuck EGR valve? ignition coil?īut, I'm pretty positive its running rich though. 36" gap (Too big?) and a Mobil 1 full synthetic oil change with a K&N oil filter which it doesnt consume oil so I wouldn't jump the gun that its burning oil and the idle is intermittionly crappy and the throttle response doesn't seem what it should be (I've cleaned the throttle body too). 90v, new MAF/VAM sensor with a K&N filter on it, new duralast (stock replacement) plug wire set, motorcraft platnum (its all my local parts store had in stock) plugs set to. replaced and set the IACV, new TPS sensor set to. I've cut off the cat and muffers and straight piped it with 2-1/2" pipe, replaced the vacuume lines at and around the turbo, the small vacuume lines on the passanger side behind the shock tower, and the bigger vacuume line going from the stock heatsink (intercooler) that runs along the firewall. It seems to me like its running WAY to rich. I'm beating my head against a brick wall on what the he** is going on with it. Hey everyone, I have a 1988 Ford 2.3 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe with the 5 speed.
